This edition of Fashion Five O is pretty simple: not having people to tell you the truth. There are plenty of fashion no-nos we have spoke of over the last eight plus years but many of them could be solved if people had someone or a group of people whose opinion they trusted and respected. These are the type of people who would be willing to stick their necks out and say: “hey Cindy you don’t look right with that shirt on” or “hey Bobby those jeans are a bit too tight”.
Now no one is saying you have to be a follower and listen to every bit of advice a friend or respected person says. It is duly noted that we all appreciate being the individual in life and have to follow our own path and likes from time to time. That being said there is clearly a disconnect somewhere because we have people looking like a hot mess. Let me say that fashion isn’t a big deal, meaning it’s not like it’s more important than a good education, human rights and fighting for equality.
All of what I say should be taken on a lighter note. Saying that, it’s still a note though. If you feel you know someone it applies to then help them out and be nice doing it. Don’t crush their dreams and fashion attempts with one felt swoop! Give tips with caution and sensitivity.
