 Quote of the Month
To die for an idea; it is unquestionably noble. But how much nobler it would be if men died for ideas that were true!

H. L. Mencken (1880 - 1956)

GeoReview: The Sopranos: The Complete Fifth Season
by Clayton Ruley

Tony Soprano and the boys are back on DVD with this four disc set containing 13 episodes in full color and subtitles in French, Spanish and English subtitles and closed captioning.   This season is has several plots like usual and they include whose getting the power from Johnny Sacks, What is up with Tony and his marriage and will his shrink Dr. Melfi get together? How about Carmella and her sons school counselor?   These are just some of the twists that we can watch on a hourly basis void of having to wait a week.

Veteran actor Steve Bushemi joined the cast this season and he plays Tony B., Tony Soprano's cousin who starts out flying right but finds it hard to keep his hand out the cookie jar. Drea de Matteo and Michael Imperoli are back as Chris and Adriana and Adriana is talking to the cops.   No more will be said about this season because you have to see it for yourself.

This is a veteran cast and the writing while not as mind blowing as the first seasons is still excellent.   It will keep you abreast of what's happening in New Jersey till the next and possibly last season goes down in the fall/winter season(s).

I'll give the DVD 4 globes. Besides the audio commentaries there wasn't much else.
