To die for an idea; it is unquestionably noble. But how much nobler it would be if men died for ideas that were true!

GeoReview: Philadelphia Eagles: The Complete History
by Clayton Ruley

This is a must for a Philadelphia Eagles fans and even those who just love the NFL Films' way of delivering a story. After the NFL Films released sets on the Dallas Cowboys, Green Bay Packers, Oakland Raiders and New York Giants the Philadelphia have their own two-disc DVD collection. Although the team hasn't had a championship since 1960 the people at NFL Films make you and the viewer realize that this is still the proud franchise with a history and crazy fans and memories.   The DVD breaks down the Birds in sections including The All Time Greats, Great Personalities, The Coaches, The Championships, The Bizarre and The Rivalry (which is∑ well if you can't guess sorry).   Along the players with their own specials are Jerome Brown, Tommy McDonald, Chuck Bednarik, Wilbert Montgomery, Steve Van Buren, Reggie White and Donovan McNabb. Among the officer holders are Leonard Tose, Bert Bell, Dick Vermeil.   The DVD breaks down „The Miracle of The Meadowlandsš and „The Fog Bowlš and the three championship years of 1948, 1949 and 1960.

This DVD can make you laugh and cry feeling joy and pain.   You can think of what went wrong and even think of the possibilities of the current team.   While I like 90% of this team there are several glowing missing people that didn't get shoutouts like Randall Cunningham and Brian Dawkins.   In fact its' a shame Randall hasn't gotten his jersey retire yet.

In any this DVD is an excellent use of footage, interviews and technology.

I'll give the DVD 4.5 Globes. Hopefully after this season they will have to add more footage and people to the history!
